Jason Cichonski's The Gaslight Coming Soon

Photo: Jason Cichonski/Instagram

Jason Cichonski (of Ela and, of course, Top Chef fame) has been hard at work on a quick revamp of the ex-Philadelphia Bar & Restaurant space in Old City, transforming it into his newest project, a bar called the Gaslight. The reno is mostly cosmetic, so was only projected to take a few weeks, with Zagat Philly reporting an anticipated opening "at the end of the month or in early February." And given the state of the menus Cichonski teased on Instagram today (click above to see a little more), it looks like they're pretty on-track.

The casual but still food-driven vibe comes across loud and clear, with sections devoted to wings, chips and dip, and "sam'iches" that feel familiar until you zero in a bit (unless whipped foie gras with earl grey raisins was a staple of all of your childhood gatherings, in which case, you've just found your home away from home). Not shown: the all-day brunch offerings that have been promised from square one, but hey, we're just looking at a corner of a page here.

UPDATE: Foobooz has since posted the full dinner menu here.
