It was in early 2012 that Jason Evenchik went public with his plans for a bar in the former Satellite Auto Body space across from Geno's Steaks, where he hoped to house a rotating cast of local food trucks. When Garage finally opened almost a year and a half later, that concept had been revised to a built-in "food cart" in the middle of the space that could host an ever-changing roster of chefs.

But even with the compromise, regulatory hang-ups have kept the cart quiet since the bar opened this past summer. Now, the Insider is reporting that the tiny kitchen will finally get fired up for the first time tomorrow, January 28.

The lucky chef getting to break in the space is Mackenzie Hilton of The Tavern (which is currently shuttered for renos at the piano bar upstairs; you probably also know Hilton from Chopped). The menu, posted to Facebook, features a few varieties of sliders (burger, cheeseburger, pork belly with kimchi and scallion aioli, and vegan mushroom-edamame) priced at $4 for one or $7 for two. Hilton will be cooking from 8 to 11 p.m.
