V Street Is Soft Open, Liquor License Be Damned

The PLCB still hasn't finalized the vegan cocktail bar's license, but that means free drinks for early customers.

Eater Philly

As V Street owners Rich Landau and Kate Jacoby hinted at earlier this week, their new cocktail bar has softly opened — without the cocktails. With everything ready to go except for a signature on their liquor license, they've decided to start welcoming and cooking for guests.

Having sampled some of the food already — here's the menu — we can safely say it's worth a visit regardless of the drink situation. And for now, while they wait for the license to come through, the bar will be offering complimentary beer and wine. (To be clear, they are not doing BYOB.) While not in its final presentation, V Street will be open tonight at 5 p.m.

The first night of soft opening was last night, announced last-minute via social media. Beyond tonight, keep an eye on Twitter, because the details and situation are still up in the air.

UPDATED: V Street will be closed Friday, October 17, with the official grand opening planned for Saturday, October 18, beginning at 5 p.m.
