Rosa Blanca Cafe, the City Hall-adjacent offshoot of Jose Garce's Cuban diner, is about three weeks in and still waiting on its liquor license. But while Dilworth Park celebrates Octoberfest (which is like Oktoberfest, if Oktoberfest were anglicized and didn't actually take place mostly in September), the cafe will operate a pop-up beer garden (which is like a biergarten, but a little bit worse because you're still in America).
Dilworth Octoberfest events are planned for the next two Saturdays, October 18 and 25 (get full details on the entertainment here). A Garces rep tells us that the beer garden will also pop-up on the evening of Thursday, October 23.
To drink, they'll be pouring Victory Festbier, Headwaters pale ale, Prima Pils, and DirtWolf DIPA. There are also promises of hard cider in cans and — of course — a pumpkin beer. Food-wise, in addition to Rosa Blanca Cafe's normal menu, they'll be serving Bavarian-style soft pretzels with cheese sauce and "Cuban Wurst" sandwiches — bratwurst, caramelized apples and onions, smoked cheddar, and Victory Donnybrook-infused mayo, pressed Cubano-style.
Here are the full hours for the beer garden:
Saturday, 10/18: Noon to 6 p.m.
Thursday 10/23: 5 to 8 p.m.
Saturday, 10/25: Noon to 6 p.m.
