Though still only about seven months old, the bar at Petruce et al. has quickly cemented for itself a reputation as a favorite hangout, thanks in large part to a relentlessly innovative bar program and bonuses like late-night discounts for restaurant-industry folks. But if you haven't checked it out yet, now might be the time — as of last night, they've instated a pretty nice happy hour setup.
The deals run 5 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday through Friday, and while their regular cocktail menu is not included, the selection they're putting out is fun:
Select draft beers will go for $5, or for $6 you can choose a citywide, a glass of wine (they'll always have one red and one white on), or a special cola cocktail featuring Foam Floaterie sodas. (It'll rotate, but look out for options like Fernet and cola or a Kalimotxo, the Basque standard that blends cola and red wine.)
(Note: co-owner Tim Kweeder tells us that tonight, they'll be doing everything but the cola cocktails. The "official" launch, with the full roster, is on Tuesday, October 28.)
To go with, there's a happy hour menu offering empanadas for $6 and a burger for $10. Additional menu items, which will vary and pull from the regular menu, will also be available for $6 at happy hour.
