Chefs Marcie Turney (Little Nonna's, Barbuzzo, et al.) and Nick Elmi (Laurel) will join host Marty Moss-Coane on WHYY's Radio Times on this year's Thanksgiving show, taking questions from listeners, doling out advice on preparing the big meal and more. The conversation will air on 90.9 FM on Wednesday, November 26, from 11 a.m. to noon. You'll also be able to listen live on the station's website, or head to the show's page for info on additional broadcasts or to find the episode in the archives after it airs. [UPDATED: Listen to the broadcast right here.]
Radio Times' pre-Thanksgiving show is an annual tradition. While in 2012, Moss-Coane had the New York Times' Sam Sifton do the honors (he was promoting his Thanksgiving book at the time), it's usually local chefs who join her in the studio. Last year, the show hosted Vedge's Rich Landau and Percy Street Barbecue's Erin O'Shea; in 2011, it was Mike Solomonov and Kevin Sbraga.
On Thanksgiving day, the show will re-air last month's episode on "The Language of Food," which has linguist Dan Jurafsky discussing his book of the same name, and hospitality professor Sybil Yang on trade secrets of menu design.
