The owner of decade-old Benna's Cafe at Eighth and Wharton and B2 on East Passyunk has signed a lease for a third coffee shop, reports the Passyunk Post. Benna's West is going into a corner space on South Broad — at Dickinson; not far from B2. The space has been empty for a while, and there have been murmurs of a possible coffee shop going in here since at least last year.

The new Benna's will feature a larger menu than the previous two cafes, still with a number of vegan-friendly options — including both regular and vegan soft-serve. In addition to coffee, that means sandwiches, smoothies, baked goods, salads, and more.

Owner Nancy Trachtenberg told the Post she hopes to open by early spring.

Benna's West, 1444 South Broad Street (at Dickinson), opening 2015.
