Juniper Commons, chef-owner Kevin Sbraga's new 1980s-themed restaurant at SouthStar Lofts, has made it through pre-opening trial runs and rigorous tableside Caesar training and will officially open at 5 p.m. tonight, December 8.
On the updated but heavily classic menu, you'll find prime rib, seafood towers, American caviar service, crab-stuffed flounder, root vegetable chicken pot pie, and baked potatoes topped with marrow butter. The new space is also functioning as the bakery for the Sbraga Dining group, producing all the breads and pastries for this restaurant, Sbraga, and the Fat Ham.
Reservations are live on OpenTable, with tables available for tonight. For now, Juniper Commons will be serving dinner only, from 5 to 10 p.m. nightly. Previously, we shared some more photos and details from the bar (highlighting a vast collection of gin and the restaurant's own ode to wine coolers).
Juniper Commons, 521 South Broad Street (at SouthStar Lofts), (215) 735-1913, now open.
