In addition to 3D printers and a lot of other heavy machinery whose usage is just a bit over our heads, co-working space/next-gen fabrication studio NextFab's Washington Avenue digs also housed an outpost of Cafe L'Aube, but the relationship was short-lived and the cafe space has been vacant since this past August.
Now that the restaurant's destiny has been revealed, as reported by Michael Klein, it feels almost inevitable. The space will next house a Mexican BYOB called Cafe Ynez from husband-and-wife team Jill Weber and Evan Malone, the latter of whom is the founder of NextFab. Together, they also own South Street's Jet Wine Bar and Rex 1516.
No word yet on an opening date for the cafe, though they are already looking for servers and baristas.
