Jose Garces is making major noise this week, announcing plans to open his first NYC restaurant in the midst of lots of chatter about his plan to sell tickets to the dining room at Volver (which just went live).
Eater NY has all the available details on the NYC spot, though they're still few and far between. The mystery concept will open next year (news that will surely inspire some giddy snark from those who've been predicting a mostly Garcesless show kitchen at Volver).
The unnamed Garces project will be located in the Financial District's massive new Brookfield Place, in a stretch of six restaurants that will include a new one from Rich Torrisi and Mario Carbone (whose restaurant group we have to thank for Eli Kulp). Eater NY also has a good in-depth look at the plans for the full complex, which include a French food market, high-end shopping, and a huge casual-dining component scheduled to open next month.
