Good day, and welcome back to Eater Young Guns, our third annual roll call of the next guard. The public call for nominations wrapped up earlier this month, and it's time to introduce the esteemed group of veteran chefs from around the country who, along with our local and national Eater editors, will choose this year's class of Eater Young Guns. The committee of leaders this year — a mix of holdovers from the last couple of years and new faces — represents regions across North America from Atlanta to Vancouver, Austin to Chicago, Louisville, Kentucky to Raleigh, North Carolina. The list includes names like Lidia Bastianich, David Chang, Dominique Crenn, and Paul Kahan — and repping Philly this year, we are very excited to welcome Marcie Turney. Turney has played a major part in quite literally shaping our city, and in addition to her own impressive accomplishments, her kitchens have fostered a wealth of talent throughout the years. We can't think of anyone better suited to the task.
Over the coming months, this group will put their heads together to identify the most promising up-and-comers in the restaurant and nightlife world, whether they're working as chefs or line cooks, sommeliers or bartenders, restaurateurs, or maître d's. And all will unfold on the pages of Eater. Head over to Eater National for more details and the full list of committee members.
