City Council has made it easier to start up a farmer's market in Philly, according to PlanPhilly. Last week, the Council approved new guidelines that eliminate a $300 annual licensing fee for new markets, and simplify the rules and registration process. The city hopes that the more relaxed rules will help markets proliferate, with the chief of staff at the Department of Public Health remarking, "we absolutely would love it if there were too many farmers' markets."
