Is the Starr-Olexy Fishtown Deal Dead?

Stephen Starr and Aimee Olexy have called it quits, at least for now, on Frankford Avenue, according to a surprising report from Michael Klein. The backyard-to-table concept was announced around the end of the year with hopes for a spring opening. (It was one of Eater's most anticipated openings of the year.)

Reasons for the change of plans given to Klein were, unsurprisingly, vague: there are "a number of issues," according to Olexy, but the only one cited is that the project was behind schedule. She refers to it as "on the shelf," but Klein also cites "unlikely" rumors that Starr could still end up using the space for another project.

Hopefully this was just a location-specific headache and doesn't augur problems with the Starr-Olexy business relationship overall. (The pair are partners in Talula's Daily and Talula's Garden.) Eater's requests for comment have not yet been returned, but stay tuned for updates.
