As if East Passyunk didn't have enough to crow about dining-wise, the Avenue will soon be home to a new Asian eatery from Ben Puchowitz and Shawn Darragh, the owners of buzzier-than-Jesus Cheu Noodle Bar.
The Passyunk Post broke the news that the Cheu boys had signed a lease for 1648 E. Passyunk - just hours after noting that the current resident of the space, El Zarape, would officially close up shop next week. (El Zarape is moving up to cheesesteak Vegas as a result of rising rent.)
No details yet on the new Puchowitz-Darragh endeavor, other than it will be "another Asian concept, not a second location of Cheu," and will have a liquor license. Cheu, meanwhile, has yet to celebrate its first birthday (their anniversary is next month).
