Taste of the Nation, the huge annual party to benefit Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign, is coming up on Sunday, April 27. The event is just one (really fun) part of the national fundraising campaign, which provides funding to local organizations including Philabundance, the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger, and the Food Trust.
The event, which is chaired by chef David Katz, will again be held at the Hotel Monaco and will feature food and drinks from some 50-odd chefs and mixologists. Unlike any previous year, this year's gala will also feature a number of food trucks. This year's honorary chair is Greg Vernick, and on the bar side, Phoebe Esmon is running the show. As always, the food will pretty much run the gamut, even including one restaurant that's not open yet: Townsend.
The main event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. and costs $95 for general admission. VIP tickets go for $145 and include early admission (at 5 p.m.) and admission to the after-party. Tickets are still available here.
