Yesterday, Food & Wine named Eli Kulp to their 2014 class of Best New Chefs. Today, as promised, the results of the People's Best New Chef (which was determined by popular vote) were announced. And, well, clearly we didn't rally hard enough, because the Mid-Atlantic winner is from Pittsburgh: Justin Severino, of Cure, is lauded for butchering whole animals and making all kinds of salumi in-house (and we have to admit, his menu looks killer). Top national honors go to Carl Thorne-Thomsen of Story in Prairie Village, Kansas. [F&W]
