"Early fall" is the target for a new project from Top Chef Kevin Sbraga, which will find a home at developer Carl Dranoff's SouthStar Lofts. Reporting on the announcement, made at a press conference last night, Michael Klein notes the yet-unnamed concept "will focus on rotisserie cooking and will have a raw bar." (Sounds like all the necessary components should be on hand for a killer take on chicken salad and oysters, hint hint.)
Sbraga's other two restaurants have also found homes on Dranoff properties. The Fat Ham, whose Tennessee-style hot chicken achieved insta-legend status, just got a glowing three-star review from Trey Popp (earlier, Craig LaBan also awarded an enthusiastic three bells). Sbraga's acclaimed eponymous restaurant, which is just a couple of blocks from the SouthStar location, has been humming along since fall of 2011 in a space previously considered "cursed." (Sbraga also claimed the 2013 Eater award for Philly's Restaurant of the Year.)
