Industry Deals at Petruce et al.; Jon Favreau's Chef Opens Locally This Friday

EAST PASSYUNK — Cantina Los Caballitos is making some changes to their outdoor seating: they're paving over the surface, which should mean fewer mosquitos, but they're also restricting the hours to appease the neighbors. The patio will shut down at midnight on weekdays and 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. [P'yunk Post]

WASH SQUARE WEST — Starting tonight, Petruce et al. is offering a special industry deal: every night (except for Monday, when they're closed) from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m., get 20% off your bar tab just for being employed in the hospitality industry. (It's just drinks for now, though they're hoping to institute a late-night menu in the future.) [EaterWire]

THEATERS NEAR YOU — Jon Favreau's new movie Chef, which opened in LA and NYC this past weekend, will open in theaters in Philly this Friday, May 16. It'll be showing at the Ritz East, in addition to the Regal King of Prussia. Check out the trailer here, and if you like to go in really prepared, check out Eater National's Q&A with Favreau and official review. [-EN-]
