Last night saw the official opening of Charlie Was A Sinner, the new all-vegan cafe and bar from HipCityVeg owner Nicole Marquis. Michael Klein shares photos and some more info on the last-minute rush here (the project was just a bit behind schedule, having previously hoped for an April opening).

The space will open at 8 a.m. daily, serving pastries and coffee; menu service begins at 11:30 a.m. and runs straight through dinner. Zagat Philly has the entire food and drink menu, which is divided into chapters and highlights cocktails with a garden-to-glass bent. (There's even a witty wheat grass shot, spiked with green chartreuse.) Mike Santoro, exec at the Mildred, designed the food offering, which includes things like a "Detox" salad, but also pigs in blankets.
