If you're a fan of The Corner, you've got just one more day to enjoy it. After service tomorrow, May 24, the restaurant will shutter for a lightning-quick rebrand, with plans to open next week as Mamou.
While Tony Rim (Raw, the Corner Foodery) is the restaurant's owner, for many, the place was synonymous with chef John Taus. Taus left the restaurant (and the city altogether, in favor of NYC) in November. The new concept, according to Michael Klein's report, will draw inspiration from south-central Louisiana. If all goes as planned, Mamou will debut on May 28 or 29.
