Hopefully you've been training, but ready or not, Philly Beer Week is here. Bright and early this morning, the Hammer of Glory began its delightfully convoluted annual trek to Opening Tap — before it hits the 23rd Street Armory by 7 p.m. tonight, it will have been conveyed by bike convoy, by Septa regional rail, by Philly Roller Girls, by horse-drawn wagon, and even by some methods yet to be revealed. Keep an eye on the #HOG and #pbw2014 hashtags for minute-to-minute updates — trust us, you don't want to let it out of your sight.
If this is your first Philly Beer Week, check out the full list of events just for today to get a scope of the size: There are more than a hundred official events before Mayor Nutter makes it official at tonight's Opening Tap party (and that's not to mention all the after parties). Eater Philly will be checking back in throughout the ten-day "week" with our top picks, post-event coverage, and more. Just don't forget to pace yourself.
N.B. Opening Tap moved into a much larger space this year, so if you're kicking yourself for not buying tickets to Opening Tap, don't fret — there are still tickets available.
