Philly is getting its first location of Korean fried chicken chain BonChon, and it's aiming to be open in Chinatown by September. The chain, which specializes in the sort of double-fried chicken you find at Cheltenham's Cafe Soho, has locations spread out across the U.S., from New York City to Texas and California (in addition to tons of shops in South Korea and Southeast Asia), and has long enjoyed a fairly cultish following.
The Philly location will have a liquor license, as the chain is known for stocking a very respectable beer selection. Elsewhere in the Eater universe, you can check out some BonChon stores that opened over the past year (e.g. this one in Arlington, Virginia, or this one in Dallas) which show off some very sleek interiors.
