The third annual Hop Chef Philly competition will hit Union Transfer on July 8. The event, hosted by Brewery Ommegang, pits a handful of Philly's best-loved chefs against each other in cooking, beer pairing, and Twitter-based trash-talking.
Last year, chef Nick Macri took home top honors with a dish he dubbed "You Can Win Friends with Meat Salad." In 2012, chef George Sabatino came out on top in Philly, then went on to win it all in the national competition at Ommegang HQ in Cooperstown, New York. (Miami, Boston, SF, LA, NYC, and Dallas all have Hop Chef contests of their own throughout the year.)
