Resurrection Ale House Closing in September

Photo: Resurrection/Twitter

Brace for a total bummer, because Resurrection Ale House is closing its doors. Owners Leigh Maida and Brendan Hartranft (Strangelove's, Memphis Taproom, Local 44) just announced the sale of the bar via press release, though they're not yet naming the buyers. The new owners will bring a new name and a new concept.

The current plan (still subject to change) is for the bar to change hands on September 21, which is Resurrection's fifth anniversary. (Until then, says the release, there will be tons of pop-up events, so keep an eye on their events page.) They're also saying that many of the staff will stay on after the sale. Maida and Hartranft plan to move the most beloved menu items (namely, the fried chicken) to another one of their bars, but aren't saying where yet.
