Bardot Opening This Week in NoLibs

Photo: Drink Philly

Bardot, from the owner of the Pub on Passyunk East, should be open in Northern Liberties before this week is through. It's been almost a year since Eater Philly first caught word of the project. The Insider is reporting an opening date of Friday, August 22, but Drink Philly puts it "on or slightly after Thursday, August 21," so it might be worth scoping it out for a possible soft opening in advance of Friday.

In contrast to the low-key, beer-centered vibe at the P.O.P.E., the aesthetic at Bardot is reminiscent of nearby Emmanuelle (think flocked wallpaper, tin ceilings, gilt accents), and it sounds like the bar menu will focus on cocktails and wine at least as much as beer. In addition to the bottle list, they'll be offering a couple of wines on tap. They've brought on chef Rhett Vellner, who you may remember from his time at Resurrection Ale House, and his menu is substantial (entrees will reach as high as $27, with snacks starting at $7). The kitchen will stay open until 1 a.m.; they'll open at 11 a.m. daily and should start offering weekend brunch in a few weeks.
