Utah Got Jello

dessertmapUSslate175.jpgCheck out the United Sweets of America, wherein Slate attempts to designate an (unofficial) official dessert for each state in the U.S. They've mostly eschewed brands, so you won't find anything Tastykake or Hershey's up for Pennsylvania; instead, we get the banana split, which was invented in Latrobe, PA (also the original home of Rolling Rock beer). Our condolences to Nevada, which got stuck with the chocolate fountain. [Slate]
