Here's What to Look Forward to at This Year's Feastival

Feastival — one of the very biggest food events of the year — is coming around again in just a few weeks. Now in its fifth year, the massive blowout raises funds for FringeArts (this year's Fringe Festival, by the by, kicks off next week), and will feature food from more than 75 local restaurants.

For the uninitiated, Feastival is a tasting event for people who don't even like tasting events. Sure, it's loud and crowded, but in a genuinely fun way — not in a "getting repeatedly elbowed out of the running for that last lukewarm meatball" way. And the organizers (it's co-hosted by Audrey Claire Taichman, Stephen Starr and Mike Solomonov) have gathered an A-list cast of chefs who are sincerely enthusiastic to be a part of it.

This time around, you'll get to sample plates from some of our most highly anticipated restaurants that haven't even opened yet (Aldine, Bing Bing, and V Street), as well as a who's-who of places you already love to eat will (or might have trouble booking a table — Laurel, we're looking at you.) Lacroix will be there, and so will American Sardine Bar. Not to mention aerialists and, well, who knows what else.

This year's party goes down at Penn's Landing on Thursday, September 18. Tickets ($250 for general admission, $350 for VIP access) are on sale now.
