Dottie's Donuts doesn't have its own shop yet, but you may have seen or tried their vegan doughnuts at a handful of cafes and shops around town. Daily News columnist Vance Lehmkuhl talked to owners Matt Quinn and Jeff Poleon about their start-up, which has been selling out of Pennsport's Grindcore House, Milk & Honey market, Elixr, and other spots.
Quinn and Poleon met working at Blackbird Pizzeria, according to Lehmkuhl's report, and are currently working on ramping up production and looking forward to a brick-and-mortar shop of their own. Though nothing's definite yet, they're targeting West Philly and hope to make it happen sometime in early 2015. (Quite frankly, it feels like West Philly should've had a dedicated vegan doughnut shop much sooner.)
In the meantime, you'll find updates on where to buy Dottie's goods and plenty of food porn (flavors have included strawberry basil, almond joy, raspberry lemonade, and peanut butter-banana-seitan "bacon"-chocolate) on Facebook/Instagram/Twitter.
