GRAYS FERRY — Starting this weekend, you can meet the makers of some of Green Aisle Grocery's most popular local foods at their Grays Ferry shop. First up this Saturday, September 20, is ReAnimator Coffee (who recently moved into a gorgeous new home). From noon to 3 p.m., they'll be on hand offering Chemex-brewed samples of their Ethiopian Sidamo and Nicaragua Los Placeres varietals. In addition to getting to chat with the experts, you'll also get a small price break on the coffee - two bags for $30 (they're normally $16 apiece). The full schedule of upcoming events is to the right. [EaterWire]
PENN'S LANDING — The folks behind Philly Beer Week are taking over the taps for Fall Fest at Spruce Street Harbor Park this weekend, September 19 to 21, making for an excellent excuse to sneak in one or two more visits before the season ends. (The final weekend for the park is September 28.) It's a whole weekend of excellent local beers. Friday focuses on Delaware and New Jersey with beers from Dogfish Head, River Horse, Flying Fish, and Twin Lakes. On Saturday, it's all Pennsylvania breweries, including selections from Barren Hill, Old Forge, Weyerbacher, Neshaminy, and Saucony Creek. And on Sunday, it's all Maryland: Heavy Seas, DuClaw, Dominion, Evolution, and Stillwater picks will share the spotlight. There will also be live music and family-friendly activities. [EaterWire]
