VETRI WIRE — If you have a spare hour, check out City Paper critic Adam Erace's conversation (literally; it's an audio file) with Marc Vetri, wherein the chef responds to the reactions to yesterday's HuffPo piece on the state of food journalism. And if you don't have the time just yet, click through anyway to read Erace's own thoughts on the situation. Don't go in hoping for any truly groundbreaking developments or retractions, but Erace does press on some difficult points, and it's an interesting listen if you're at all invested in the story. RITTENHOUSE — A zoning meeting will be held tomorrow in regard to plans that would raze Little Pete's and the parking garage above it to make way for a planned Hudson Hotel. If you want to make your opinions heard, now's your chance. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, at 7 p.m. at the Tenth Presbyterian Church at 1700 Spruce Street. Plus, here's a great interview with Little Pete himself (a.k.a. Peter Koutroubas), via Joel Mathis for Philly Mag. [Facebook/Philly Mag]
CENTER CITY — The Rita's Water Ice location at 1511 Spruce will re-open next month for the 2015 season. The franchise is now under new ownership, after a major act of vandalism last year forced the store to shut down and rebuild. The shop's first day back will be Friday, February 20. [EaterWire]
