Starting today, fans of Border Springs lamb will find a lot more variety in front of them when they stop by the usual stand at Reading Terminal Market — and a whole new look. The shop got a major overhaul over the weekend, marking the official transition from Border Springs to La Divisa Meats.
As reported last week, Nick Macri has taken over the stand and will now sell Country Time pork and Birchrun Hills veal in addition to lamb, as well as an expanded selection of his own charcuterie and to-go prepared items. More details here.
In other Reading Terminal news, Craig LaBan interviewed outgoing market GM Paul Steinke for Sunday's Inquirer. (Steinke announced last month that he would leave his long-held position to make a bit for City Council.) Over the course of the chat, Steinke names his favorite breakfast and lunch at RTM, recalls some of his proudest moments from his tenure, muses on the market's future, and cops to preferring apples to real desserts, like some kind of monster.
