Just in time for their first anniversary, Fishtown BYOB Girard on Girard will be nixing their dinner service and operating instead as a bruncherie. Starting Dec. 1, they will open daily at 7:00 a.m. and serve fresh-brewed coffee, a variety of breakfast sandwiches, house-made pastries and seasonal brunch specials through 3:00 p.m. The occasional popup dinner will happen, but the main focus will be on brunch and breakfast moving forward.
Chef/owner Brian Oliveira attributed the change to responding to neighborhood feedback. "We listened to what the neighborhood told us they wanted, which was a more casual place where they could relax, grab a coffee, and enjoy our popular brunch menu all week long."
The expanded brunch menu includes: an ancient grain breakfast bowl with sautéed apples, cranberries, candied pecans, goat cheese and herbs; house-made yogurt; baked mac and cheese, French toast with orange ginger sauce and maple-hazelnut butter; avocado toast with house-made mascarpone cheese, grapefruit, and chipotle honey; quiche of the day; and warm buttermilk biscuits. And a daily $5 breakfast special of two eggs, potatoes, toast and coffee, will available between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
A re-opening celebration will be held on December 1 at 7:00 a.m. Free coffee and bite-sized samples from the new menu will be served.
Girard on Girard’s new hours will be Tuesday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. While the menus and hours have changed, the restaurant says it's committed to its no-tipping policy, which will remain in effect.
