Opa Team Takes Over Former Coco's

The bar will soon become Craftsman Row Saloon.

Coco's [Official]

George and Vasiliki Tsiouris, owners of Opa and Drury Beer Garden, are taking over what used to be Coco's on Jeweler's Row. Coco's had a long-standing 30 year run, capped with a nice little write-up by Danya Henninger in her Philly.com column The Spot. The Tsiouris's snatched up the legendary space, and will be reconceptualizing the location into Craftsman Row Saloon, a neighborhood bar, just like its predecessor.

Over the past few weeks, the owners have been adding slight renovations to the space, but with keeping the bar's historical integrity in mind: the bar's facade has been left untouched, as are the name placards of Coco's regulars. Chef Rich Freedman, previously of Sidecar Bar & Grille and currently the sous at Opa, is building a menu of items you might find at your local neighborhood hang: soups, salads, sandwiches, and the like. Hours will be from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., lunch to late-night.
