Martha Officially Opens in Kensington

Yesterday marked the grand opening of Martha, Kensington's new neighborhood bar specializing in local... everything. Stocking Philly's largest selection of local spirits, Phoebe Esmon and Christian Gaal worked with owners Jon Medlinsky, Cary Borish, and Mike Parsell to create a cocktail list utilizing and highlighting the liquors of our terroir — some of which that pour from Martha's 24-tap system. Additional tap offerings include craft beer and very affordable wine (a bottle of '14 Partida Creus VN, normally in the $75+ range, goes for $65 at Martha). Look for local collaborations with ReAnimator coffee, Food and Ferments (kvass), Funky Fresh (kefir), and hoagie bread by Philly Bread on chef Tim Kirkland's living food menu (below) projected on a large screen over the bar.
