Fourth and Cross's short-lived saga will come to an end on Monday night, December 21, after its last dinner service. The upscale diner opened in July, less than six months ago, to much of the restaurant-sparse neighborhood's delight. After some high praise from City Paper's Adam Erace, and lots of neighborhood love, owner Andrew Michaels closed his restaurant for a two-week hiatus with the hopes of refining its concept to something a little more dinner-centric. Twenty days ago, the restaurant reopened with a new menu, and Michaels, excited about his improvements, called it, "Fourth and Cross...the way I always wanted it to be." Unfortunately, that wasn't enough for the restaurant to stay afloat; Michaels posted this note to the Fourth and Cross Facebook page this afternoon:
