Among all the big-deal higher-end options that keep popping up along East Passyunk, P'unk Burger has now officially opened to expand the Avenue's casual (but still high-minded) options. The new concept from Slice's Marlo and Jason Dilks offers all-day hours, room for about 26 people to eat in, takeout and delivery (online ordering is promised soon), green-minded policies like using biodegradable plastics and recycling fryer oil, and a menu of burgers, sides, salads, and shakes that should keep just about everyone happy.
You can choose from a handful of proteins, opt to swap in a gluten-free bun, and run amok through toppings that range from arugula and vegan daiya cheese to tater tots, fried pickles, and three kinds of bacon from 1732 Meats, so most needs and whims are covered. Even the sides offer vast permutations — you could go with a classic fries or rings, but if you do find yourself tempted into designing a half-and-half of Old Bay-dusted sweet potato fries and pickle chips, no one's going to stop you.
Hours are currently 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. (In a few weeks' time, late night hours will be added on the weekends, expanding to 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.)
