This weekend is the grand opening of Parlor, Rob Wasserman's pizza-minded replacement for the ever-troubled Saint James. The family-friendly restaurant (whose current name feels significantly sleeker than its working title, Parlor Pizza Bar) was targeting an early March opening date, and with its official opening set for Sunday, March 1, they pretty much stuck that landing.
The concept is aiming for a vibe more casual and inclusive than its predecessor. Beyond the menu built around crowd-pleasing pizza, they've placed an emphasis on offering affordable wines (draft options start at $6 a glass; the least expensive entry on the bottle list comes in at $18) and have stated that "90 percent of the menu" can be made gluten-free.
Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. See the full menu below, which reads pretty sophisticated-casual (sophisticasual?) until you realize that the pizzas are named things like "Beastmode" and "Pist and Morta-fied."
Parlor Suburban Square, 30 Parking Plaza, Ardmore, (610) 649-6200, opening March 1.
