It's been an overwhelming start for Bonchon, the Korean fried chicken chain whose first Philly location has struggled to keep up with its enthusiastic crowds in its first two weeks. Though initial plans would have seen the shop open from lunch through late-night, seven days a week, long lines and sell-outs in the shop's first days made them immediately back off in favor of something simpler: Walk-in dinner service only, done by 11 p.m., with no phone-in orders allowed.
Now, while they're still not quite ready to face lunch service (or the phone), the team has declared they will extend their hours to include late-night service. According to an announcement on Facebook, current dine-in hours are now 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily. The full menu (dine-in or takeout, as long as you order in person) is still available only until 11 p.m.; from 11 p.m. until 2 a.m., a limited menu of just chicken and fries will be offered. Hey, we'll take it.
