For those that have been stalking NYC import Nom Wah Tea Parlor, the wait to get inside will be a little longer — but as of today, you can preview the food in the comfort of your own home. With the kitchen ready to go, the dim sum shop has now gone live on delivery service Caviar.
Right now, they're delivering from 1 to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 4 to 8:30 p.m. on Sundays. Prices for the small plates range from $3.50 to $5.50; Caviar charges a $4.99 delivery fee and delivers to South Philly, Center City, north to Lehigh Avenue, and west to 50th.
So far, the selection includes about 19 items — significantly fewer options than are available delivery from the original New York shop, so we expect that menu to grow once the restaurant gets fully off the ground.
Nom Wah Tea Parlor, 218 North 13th Street, now open for delivery only/opening March 2015.
