As of this weekend, V Street is serving brunch, and your early weekend dining options are looking better than ever — especially if you're vegan and/or prefer bold brunch dishes that skew more toward the savory, lunch-y end of the spectrum.
There's a lot of overlap with the bar's other menus, but with a few adaptations and additions: Think togarashi home fries, pho-spiced mushrooms and biscuits, and waffles with blackberry preserves, sesame butter, and ponzu maple syrup. Elements of the spicy chaat salad from the weekday lunch menu here join with "scrambled poha" — made with Indian flattened rice, it's the closest thing you'll find to eggs on this all-vegan menu. (And yes, their churro ice cream sandwiches made it onto the brunch menu, too.)
And, of course, you won't have to settle for any run-of-the-mill mimosas with your meal. V Street's inventive and diverse list of cocktails, beer, and wine is available to go with your meal.(There are non-alcoholic options too, including horchata iced coffee.)
Brunch at V Street runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Here's the full menu:
