In the lead-up to their highly anticipated first Philadelphia shop, the guys from Big Gay Ice Cream will hold court at a cookbook release party and preview event on Thursday, April 30 at neighboring Juniper Commons — including an opportunity to try the goods before BGIC opens its doors.
Owners/authors Douglas Quint and Bryan Petroff will be on hand to celebrate the release of their new "yearbook" and hold a Q&A, so you can finally hound them all you want for lots of highly specific info about the upcoming shop — don't worry, they love that.
Included in the $50 price tag for the two-hour ticketed event is a signed copy of the book, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres provided by Juniper Commons, and dessert at the BGIC shop next door. That's a huge deal for those that want to be first-in, since the official opening to the hoi polloi is said to be coming sometime in May.
Big Gay Ice Cream event at Juniper Commons, April 30, 6 to 8 p.m., $50, tickets available here.
