SOUTH PHILLY — With Opening Day just around the corner, Phillies fans may have to face a bleak season without the comforts of the Philadium. As reported today by Michael Klein for Philly.com, the stadium-adjacent sports bar has been shuttered by the Department of Revenue, who cite "serious tax violations." The city tells Klein that the bar owes about $19,000 in back taxes and penalties. There's no word yet on the bar's future. [Philly.com]
??? — Temple University plans to hold a "Dîner en Cherry" alumni event this month, styled after Dîner en Blanc. Unwavering DEB-naysayers Philebrity are predictably but hilariously disgusted. [Philebrity]
PENNSPORT — Passyunk Post spotted signs of an apparent sandwich shop-to-be at Front and Morris streets, called 1st Ward. Further details have yet to be uncovered, but signage is up and (some) furniture is already in place. [Passyunk Post]
