Brace for another season of street food frenzy: The Food Trust has announced the 2015 schedule for Night Market, the immensely popular food truck festival, now in its fifth year. Are you continually self-berating for always missing that one special truck when it's finally nearby? There is a very, very good chance that truck will be waiting for you at Night Market, along with every other food truck you've ever promised yourself you'll get around to finding.
Yes, the lines are long, but the energy and impact are worth it. In previous seasons, the event has been credited with driving impressive amounts of spending to local businesses, often in up-and-coming neighborhoods. This year, they're promising to "tread new ground all over the City of Brotherly Love and Culinary Affection" (note the upgraded nickname), as three of this year's four stops are new to the festival.
The first Night Market of the season will take over South Street West in just a few weeks and — like all this year's events — will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Here's the full schedule:
· May 14: South Street West (Broad Street to 18th Street)
· June 18: Callowhill (on Spring Garden, roughly 10th to Broad)
· August 6: Lancaster Ave. (35th to 39th)
· October 1: Frankford and Girard
