FISHTOWN — South Philly's favorite gourmet grocery, Green Aisle, is expanding up north. The third shop will be located right in the heart of Fishtown, at 11 West Girard Avenue. Owners Adam and Andrew Erace are targeting a late May or early June opening. [Instagram]
FITLER SQUARE — The past year has seen some turmoil and a small handful of new chefs at Meritage, and now they've officially announced a new new chef who's no stranger to trouble: Steven Forte did a turn at the ever-dramatic Farmer's Cabinet and most recently led the kitchen at the Gaslight, which just reopened under a new chef after a month-long shutdown and major overhaul. Forte's resume also includes Le Mas Perrier, Fork, and Il Pittore, among others. His new dinner menu for Meritage is here. [EaterWire]
CHERRY HILL — Locally based mini-chain Honeygrow has opened the doors to its newest store, in Cherry Hill's Ellisburg Shopping Center (1588 Kings Highway North), which also got a new Whole Foods last summer. The custom stirfry and salad spot is now up to four locations, with another currently in the works in Hoboken, NJ. [Philly.com]
