This week, Eater Philly checked in with the nitro coffee trend currently gaining local ground, including a teaser from La Colombe's Todd Carmichael that suggested the local powerhouse roaster was ready to debut its own version. Now, we've got word from chef Nick Elmi that, sure enough, the very first Pure Black tap has been installed and is ready to go now at summertime staple Morgan's Pier.
The nitrogen-pressurized version, however, is still "about a week away," Elmi tells us. Until then, you'll find still Pure Black flowing from the tap, which is pretty cool in and of itself. Carmichael said on Twitter this week that the newcomer would be "soon available everywhere," so keep an eye out for the taps to proliferate.
