The Reading Terminal Market announced in December it was seeking a new General Manager following the resignation of long-time GM Paul Steinke, who left to launch a bid for City Council. Despite casting a nationwide net and taking nearly six months, they ultimately didn't have to go far to find Steinke's replacement: The Market announced today the hire of Anuj Gupta, who has served as Executive Director of non-profit community development corporation Mt. Airy USA since 2010. He will officially begin as GM at Reading Terminal on June 15 of this year.

Steinke held the position for 13 years, overseeing the major renovations completed in 2012 and expanding the Market's hours to include Sundays. This week, candidate Steinke cited his RTM experience in an interview with reporter Holly Otterbein about his desire to transform the city's commercial corridors.
