RITTENHOUSE — George and Jennifer Sabatino's Aldine will celebrate Philly Beer Week with a special beer dinner featuring Ardmore's recently expanded Tired Hands. On Friday, May 29, a four-course prix fixe menu will be paired with the Tired Hands lineup, including two beers brewed exclusively for the restaurant for PBW: Luminous Calcidity, a Berlinerweisse brewed with local oyster shells and conditioned atop Madagascar vanilla beans and local tarragon, and Ald Bruid, a brown ale conditioned atop fig puree (with the final product being a blend of some aged in Elijah Craig barrels and some in stainless steel). Choose from an omnivore or herbivore tasting menu, with each course paired with a different beer, for $75 per person (before tax and tip). Menus and more info here. [EaterWire]
AMBLER — Forest & Main brewpub has hired a new chef and plans a significant expansion that will add a tasting room in the space next door, which should open this fall. Look for a new menu and increased production which should allow for distribution to a larger number of area bars. [Philly.com]
LISTICLES — Khyber Pass Pub earned a spot on Esquire's Best Bars in America list for 2015. Previous local inductees to the list (which they've been expanding for a decade now) include the Grey Lodge, Southwark, and Friendly Lounge, though it's been many years since a Philly name has been added.
