Garces Group's Rosa Blanca Is Closing for a Rebrand

The plan is to reopen with a new concept that still focuses on Cuban food.

Jose Garces's Cuban diner, Rosa Blanca, will shutter for the summer to regroup, according to the Insider. It will close down after dinner on Sunday, May 31, with plans to reopen this fall in the form of a "Cuban cafe."

No word yet on the name or any further details on the diner's replacement. Rosa Blanca did, however, already inspire a scaled-back spinoff called Rosa Blanca Cafe, located at Dilworth Park.

Rosa Blanca opened in December 2013, as a replacement for Chifa, with a diner setup that originally included hours from early morning to late night and breakfast served all day. It received a lukewarm reception from critics, and attempted to tweak its concept and execution several times, even adding a downstairs lounge with a focus on live music and dancing late last year.
