The Feliz Restaurants team (Cantina/La Calaca/Taqueria Feliz, all owned by Tim Spinner and Brian Sirhal) is headed to Horsham this summer with the opening of Pizzeria Felici, specializing in wood-fired Neapolitan pizza. The Insider broke news today of the new venture, which will bring over a couple of alums of their other restaurants — Michael Brenfleck as exec and Kelly Fink as GM — with Jim Burke (formerly of James) serving as consulting chef. The new Italian concept will house a full bar and expects to open in August.
It marks a return to the suburbs for the group, which began with Cantina Feliz in nearby Fort Washington, but has since been keeping busy opening spots within city limits. After building their rep on Mexican cuisine, they opened classic American Beast & Ale in Manayunk last August, though that restaurant recently went dark. (According to reports, the official word is that it's shuttered for renovations, with no timeline given.) This is their first time going Italian.
