Opening Report: Banh Mi and More at Same Same; Dos Tacos Opens in Center City

Two new casual options celebrate street food.

NORTHERN LIBERTIES — In the former home of Koo Zee Doo, Chad and Thuy Kubanoff have opened the doors at Same Same, specializing in southern Vietnamese street food. Banh mi, spring rolls, and goi ga, a salad of chicken, cabbage, and herbs, are highlights of the opening menu, all priced comfortably below $10. Closed Mondays. Status: Open. 614 N. CENTER CITY — Former Tashan chef Sylva Senat is back in Philly with plans for two restaurants, the first of which is Dos Tacos, a casual taco spot with late-night weekend hours in the snug space that most previously housed Aqua. The menu includes Korean fusion tacos, a French-inflected chicken taco with truffle-lime vinaigrette and an optional foie supplement, a crispy-shell ground beef version, and more. 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Wednesday; 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.
